The Ghana Police Service has concluded its investigation into the case of a house boy suspected of killing his madam in the Ashanti region’s Sokoban-Apaaso.
A duplicate docket has been forwarded to the Attorney-General’s office for guidance, police prosecutors informed the Asokore Mampong District Magistrate Court.
John Allister, 22, made headlines in September after reportedly stabbing his boss to death six days after starting work for the 35-year-old Stella Osei, also known as Princess Afua Ahenkan.
He sold his late mother’s KIA Sportage vehicle with the aid of accomplices after fleeing with sacks of rice, cooking oil, and other miscellaneous stuff.
According to the police prosecution, the accused utilized some of the profits to purchase a Toyota Vitz with the registration GS 3107-23.
On October 2, 2023, the Asokwa Circuit Court sentenced Allister to 20 years in jail for stealing GHS167, 000 while working as a hotel receptionist in Kumasi.
Despite the fact that the court did not accept his plea, Allister crossed a line on September 18, 2023, to accept responsibility for his madam’s death.
On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, ASP Stephen Ofori, a police prosecutor, informed the court that the case docket had been transferred to the A-G’s office for consultation.
He then asked the court to put the two accused, John Allister and James Anokye, a 27-year-old driver, in prison pending advice.
The accused were remanded to appear in court on October 31, 2023, pending the recommendation of the Attorney-General.
