Over fears of a divorce, the husband chops his wife to death in Mpohor

The Mpohor District Police Command has a young guy in his early 30s under arrest for killing his wife after she threatened to file for divorce.

A town called Wiredukrom in the Western Region’s Mpohor District, close to Wassa Manso, is the scene of the tragedy.

According to reports, the crime was perpetrated by the suspect, whose name has been reported as Atta Sani, soon after an argument with his wife.

Maame Ama, 25, who died, according to a family member who described the event to Connect FM’s Omanbapa morning show crew, left her marital home after complaining that her husband had been mistreating her.

Kwaku Adams says that when her spouse exposed her to more violence, she had been living with someone other in the same neighbourhood for a few days.

Since there had been recent issues and the husband argues with her over every little thing, my sister had grown weary of the marriage. We’ve been preparing for it ever since she told us she wanted to end the marriage. After leaving her marital residence, she was finding tranquilly at the home of another woman living in the same neighbourhood. The crime was done by her spouse while he pretended to be talking to her about a crucial matter, the speaker said.

He continues by saying that his late sister accompanied the suspect to his house with their two-year-old child in an innocent manner.

“She thought they were going to talk about something important when she accompanied him into their room with their two-year-old boy, but he butchered her to death. According to neighbours, they overheard the two arguing in the room before realising that he had slaughtered her. He fled, leaving the two-year-old toddler next to the mother’s dead body, the witness said.

The deceased’s body was later placed at the mortuary, and the suspect is now helping the police with their inquiries.

The couple has three children, the oldest of whom is eight years old and the youngest of whom is just two.
