According to resident engineer Thomas David Arthur, the $346.5 million Ofankor-Nsawam dual carriageway project is moving smoothly with 40% of the work now finished.
Construction of an underpass footbridge at the Agya Appiah part of the road is currently 50% complete, as is that of a footbridge at Fise, which is currently 95% complete. All other project components are currently in various levels of completion.
The government and Maripoma Enterprise Limited, a fully owned Ghanaian construction business, are both contributing to the project’s funding. Maripoma Enterprise Limited is also carrying out the project’s execution under a Design and Build Contract, under the supervision of Associated Consultants Limited.
In his Wednesday update to the Ghanaian Times on the status of the project’s construction, Mr. Arthur, the in-charge of roads for Associated Consultants Limited, explained that the project involved building an eight-lane road from Ofankor to Pokuase Interchange and a ten-lane road from Pokuase Interchange to the Nsawam bypass.
