The Northern Regional Secretariat of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged constituencies with uncontested parliamentary candidates to conduct an Extraordinary Constituency Delegates Conference on Sunday, January 21, 2024.
This conference is designed to congratulate or confirm the unchallenged aspiring Parliamentary candidates.
This instruction followed the NPP General Secretary’s announcement of January 17, 2024, which announced the conclusions of the National Executive Committee (NEC) at their meeting the same day.
This conference has been convened by the Northern Regional Chairman, Mohammed Adam Baantima Samba, in line with Article 7(31) of the party’s constitution.
The uncontested aspiring Parliamentary Candidates for the Karaga, Tolon, Gushegu, Bimbila, and Tatale-Sanguli seats will be elected by popular acclamation at this meeting.
In a letter written by the NPP’s Northern Regional Secretary, Prof Zakaria Hudu, and obtained by Citi News, the party expressed hope that the Extraordinary Constituency Delegates Conference would be a watershed moment in the party’s democratic process.
It is also anticipated to bring members together for a victorious outcome in the 2024 elections.
