Dominic Nitiwul, the Defense Minister and Member of Parliament for the Bimbilla seat, has claimed that he will use his candidate to give the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) a lesson during the 2024 elections.

He has petitioned the New Patriotic Party’s National Committee to allow his candidate, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Zaruk, to correctly refill his form in order to participate in the party’s next parliamentary primary.

Mr. Nitiwul told the media after what he described as a calm screening process that he is not concerned about his candidate since the majority of the delegates have placed their faith in him.

Concerning the events in Bimbilla, he stated that he is unconcerned with the current situation and is more concerned with preparations to have the NPP’s current Vice President and presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, win the 2024 general elections.

He pledged to deploy his candidate to teach the opposition NDC a valuable lesson in 2024.

“I say that they should let that gentleman contest because they say the gentleman has not filled out the form. I want to appeal to the appeals committee of the party to have the gentleman go back to Bimbila, fill out his form properly, and allow him to contest the election. They should suspend everything and return the form to Bimbila. Let him fill out the form properly and allow him to contest the election, and we will see how I will treat him in the constituency. I will use him to show the NDC what I will do to them in 2024. Tell him I will use him to test what I will do to the NDC in the 2024 election.”

Alhaji Zaruk successfully filed his nominations to run against the incumbent, Dominic Nitiwul, at the constituency level. However, when the vetting lists were disclosed, his name was omitted, infuriating his constituents, who vandalized party property.

As a result, the committee has directed him to return to the Bimbilla constituency office and finish filling out his candidacy form, as well as restore any damage caused by his supporters who trashed party property a few days ago.

He would next return to the Bimbilla constituency office to fix any damage caused by his fans before continuing his campaigning efforts.
