Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a potential flagbearer candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is still depressed about the demise of his enterprises at the hands of the NPP, which is currently in power.

He claims that this one action has harmed him more than anything else in his whole life.

Speaking to party delegates in Adansi Asokwa in the Ashanti Region about charges of being sponsored by the NPP for the upcoming primaries, he said these things.

After the Bank of Ghana (BoG) suspended its license as part of the financial sector cleaning, uniBank, in which Dr. Duffuor was a key shareholder, failed in 2018.

The government said that the bank was bankrupt at the time of its demise and that its directors and owners had carried out unauthorized loans and advances as well as unauthorized purchases of properties under the guise of connected interests.

Dr. Duffuor petitioned parliament in November 2021 to request the reinstatement of the license; as a result, Speaker Alban Bagbin ordered the creation of a seven-member commission to investigate the collapse.
