Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, vice president and also flagbearer hopeful for the 2024 elections, is hurt by Alan Kyerematen’s decision to drop out of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidacy.
The vice president, according to Yaw Adomako Baafi, the Bawumia Campaign team’s deputy director of communications, did not take news well.
“Alan Kyerematen is an integral member of the party so when the news broke, some of us in Bawumia’s team including the Vice President himself were not happy” he said.
The assertion was made by Mr. Baafi in response to Mr. Kyerematen’s choice on the Badwam morning program on Adom TV.
He stated that Alan Kyerematen’s actions have “turned the party into a laughing stock”
“We had a peaceful election. I’m surprised that Alan Kyeremanten decided to withdraw from the race although the National Council of the party set up a disciplinary committee to ensure the concerns he raised were addressed” he noted.
