The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has expressed his support for the comment made by the Abetifi MP, Bryan Acheampong, that the NPP will never hand over power to the National Democratic Congress (NDC). In an interview on JoyFM’s Super Morning Show, Boakye described Acheampong’s statement as positive and fully endorsed it.

Acheampong had stated on Saturday that the NPP will use whatever means necessary to remain in power in the 2024 general election and that if the NDC resorts to threats and brute force, the NPP will show them that they have the men to stop them. He clarified that the statement was made in response to the NDC’s violent comments, which seek to frighten the electorates.

Boakye also explained that the comment was based on the NPP’s economic stabilization efforts, citing the stabilization of the cedi and the fall in fuel prices. He stated that due to these turnarounds, the NPP is confident that they will not hand over power to the NDC.

He further clarified that Acheampong did not say that even if the NDC wins, the NPP will not hand over power to them. Boakye emphasized that the NDC has been dwelling on the economic turmoil to come to power, but seeing the country’s recovery, the NPP will remain in power.

In conclusion, Boakye said that the NDC should focus on issue-based campaigns rather than resorting to violent comments that seek to intimidate the electorates.
