As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) prepares for the upcoming primary, Mr Alex Kweku Fosu, a leading member of the party, has called on delegates to choose honest and truthful candidates who will lead the party to victory in the 2024 general elections. In an interview with the media, Mr Fosu implored delegates to use their power wisely and make critical decisions to vote for candidates who possess the necessary qualities to break the ‘8’ in the upcoming election.

According to Mr Fosu, delegates must not allow money to sway their decisions in choosing parliamentary candidates, as it could lead to the selection of wrongful and unmarketable candidates that could let the party down. He stressed the need for circumspection in selecting rightful and marketable candidates who will be beneficial to all.

The NPP is at a crucial stage in its quest to find winnable candidates who are trustworthy, visionary, and innovative, as it seeks to break the ‘8’ in the 2024 elections. Mr Fosu emphasized the importance of choosing candidates with no public critics or self-destructive character to ensure that both supporters of the party and floating voters easily accept their candidature.

Mr Fosu expressed his worry about the alleged suspension of some supporters in the Agona West constituency by the party’s executives. He called on the central regional and national executives to intervene to halt the unjustified suspension of 16 supporters in the constituency, which he deemed discriminatory and a ploy to intimidate and threaten party members.

He warned that the suspension could have serious repercussions on the party in the 2024 election, stressing the need for unity to ensure the NPP’s victory. For the most part, Mr Fosu called on delegates to vote for selfless, honest, generous, and ‘can do spirited’ candidates to lead the party to reap the benefits after the elections.

For the most part, the upcoming primary presents an opportunity for the NPP to choose the right candidates who will lead the party to victory in the 2024 elections. It is the duty of the delegates to make critical decisions and select truthful and honest aspirants who possess the necessary qualities to break the ‘8.’
