Atik Mohammed, a former general secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), has asked Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to connect with other candidates for the NPP’s presidential nomination.
Prior to the general elections in 2024, he said that even if Dr. Bawumia is in a strong position to win, he needs the backing of his rivals.
“He [Bawumia] is in a good position right now and to show that he is determined to get to the finished line; this is a good time to engage…My advice is that he should reach out to some people,” he said on Accra-based Peace FM.
“Dr. Bawumia is one smart man that I believe if he decides that he wants to engage, he knows how to go about it,” he added.
The Vice President is thought to be the most likely choice to represent the ruling party in the general elections in 2024.
In the Super Delegates election, Dr. Bawumia received 629 votes, placing him in first place among the top five contenders going into the party’s primary election for president on November 4.
