A 21-year-old tractor operator was sentenced to 23 months in jail by a Nkwanta South Magistrate court in Oti area for stealing a 24-inch television set, four laptop computers, Kente fabric, Tramadol tablets, a Samsung small phone, three TV decoders, and condoms.
Kwabena Tetteh also snatched two chicken cartons and five energy drink containers.
Kwabena Tetteh, who was accused of stealing, pled guilty to the charges.
His Lordship Joseph Evans Annang Okorokpa presided over the court, which convicted Kwabena Tetteh on his own plea and sentenced him to 23 months in jail.
The complainants are store owners and Nkwanta locals, according to the police prosecutor in this case, Detective Inspector Bright Nkansah.
On October 2, 2023, the Nkwanta Police Intelligence was notified that a young guy in the Nkwanta Nsana Zongo electoral district was observed breaking into a refrigerated shop.
According to him, a string of break-ins and thefts had occurred before to the suspect’s detention.
Kwabena Tetteh acknowledged to the crimes during the inquiry and interrogation, according to him.
The police prosecution said Kwabena led the police to his residence and retrieved several valuable items which included, the 24-inch television, a mobile phone, a Samsung mini tablet, kente cloth, four laptops and multi TV decoders, an MP3 player one box of tramadol tablets and many others.
