No NPP member can thwart Ghanaians’ will in the 2024 elections, according to Sammy Gyamfi

No one in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), according to Sammy Gyamfi, communications officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), can thwart the will of the Ghanaian people in the general elections of 2024.

Bryan Acheampong, the Minister of Food and Agriculture, had stated that the NPP would use all available measures to win reelection in 2024. Mr. Gyamfi was replying to this statement.

Speaking to NPP supporters in Mpraeso in the Eastern Region on Saturday morning (April 8), after a health walk as part of events commemorating this year’s Kwahu Easter, Mr. Acheampong, who is also the NPP’s member of parliament for Abetifi, declared that the NPP would never cede power to the NDC.

He declared that “we have the men” and that the NPP will do whatever it took to stay in power.

He asserted that the NPP is equipped to put an end to any illegal activity that the NDC might be planning to use to win the 2024 elections.

The NDC Communications Officer, in contrast, stated in response to Mr. Acheampong’s statement that “Sovereignty rests in the people and not in a man who only served as a lowly Airman Basic (the lowest enlisted rank in the United States Air Force immediately below airman) for around 2 years.”

He believes that the former Deputy National Security Minister lacks the authority to threaten any NDC member and that the NDC would be well-prepared for the elections in 2024.

He voiced the hope that “nobody can pervert the will of the majority of the Ghanaian people come 2024 and vote for change.”

If Bryan and his ilk are motivated by getting away with the wrongdoing they committed during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election and the 2020 elections, Mr. Gyamfi added, “They are terribly misguided, for it will not be business as usual. Notice is served by this.”

Thus, he has urged NDC supporters to “ignore Bryan Acheampong’s absurd tantrums.”
