In an unfinished structure at the Gomoa Akraman new site in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region, a three-month-old newborn girl has been left behind.
Construction workers were busy with their chores surrounding the incomplete structure when they came across the abandoned infant, bringing the terrible situation to light.
Adom News spoke with Joseph Mensah, a steelbender who was one of the workers, about the discovery.
He claimed that Gomoa Akraman’s neighborhood Daavi Bless Police Station had received a report about the incident.
The social welfare division of the Gomoa East District was then given custody of the abandoned infant girl.
The occurrence has caused authorities to initiate an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the abandonment and identify any potential guardians or family members. Additionally, they are collaborating with child welfare organizations to provide the necessary support and resources for the child and assure its physical and emotional well-being.
