There has been a recent misconception about Ghanaian Gospel musicians not performing their own songs. However, popular Gospel artiste MOG Music has debunked these claims and revealed that they are entirely false.

During a Twitter Space conversation with AJ Sarpong, MOG Music explained that Gospel artistes do perform their own songs. However, they also incorporate other popular Gospel songs to spice up their performance.

The artiste stated that one of the main challenges Gospel artistes face is the lack of airplay compared to secular artistes. Thus, Gospel songs mostly receive airplay during the early hours of the day when most people are still asleep.

MOG Music believes that it is unfair to claim that Gospel musicians do not perform their own songs and only perform other popular songs on stage. He stated that if Gospel artistes do not perform their own songs, why record them in the first place?

Furthermore, MOG Music believes that it is acceptable to do a medley as a Gospel artiste as long as they obey copyright rules.

In summary, MOG Music has debunked the claims that Ghanaian Gospel musicians do not perform their own songs. He believes that Gospel artistes always try their best to perform their own songs before adding other songs to their performances. However, they do face the challenge of getting airplay on mainstream radio stations, which makes it difficult for their songs to reach a wider audience.

For the most part, Gospel artistes should be recognized for their hard work and effort in creating their own songs. It is only fair to appreciate their music and give them the airplay and recognition they deserve.
