Man allegedly kills 7-year-old niece for money rituals

On Friday morning, residents of the agricultural town of Wassa Nkyirifi in the Western Region were horrified to learn that a seven-year-old girl was allegedly murdered by her uncle for ritualistic money-making purposes.

The suspect, a 37-year-old farmer who goes by the name of Augustine, reportedly killed the victim and dumped the corpse in a nearby thicket before calling the police to report his niece missing.

Sandy Manu, who is seven years old, has been named as the victim.

The suspect then went a step further, broadcasting public pleas for assistance in finding his niece on the radio.

However, Augustine’s answers to the questions and the reasons why he was so worried about the missing little girl led the Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Police to suspect foul play.

According to a police source, Augustine’s body language, his replies, and his subsequent display that he was afraid prompted the police to question him extensively, during which he started crying.

The police source said that he afterwards admitted to having killed the niece as part of a ritualistic killing for money in order to avoid being hungry.

According to reports, he informed the police that after complaining to an older man in the Wassa Nkyirifi village about his poverty, the guy advised him to use one of his numerous nieces for money rituals.

He went to meet a spiritualist the following day to get assistance with money rituals after his meditation.

After that, the suspect claimed, the medium instructed him to deliver a human head – that is the head of one of his nieces.

After that, he attacked Sandy and murdered her.

He killed her and beheaded her, then buried the headless corpse while hiding the head.

The decapitated body was dug out from the neighboring bush by the police after he had led them there.

Additionally, the head was located in another place.

The suspect is presently being held by police, and the corpse has subsequently been placed at the morgue.
