Nana Akomea, the Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation (STC), has encouraged the public to block John Dramani Mahama from being re-elected as Ghana’s next President.
He asks Ghanaian voters to avoid campaign messaging from the 2024 National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate emphasizing that he has nothing fresh to offer.
The former Information Minister, speaking at the acclamation ceremony for Okaikwei South MP Darkoa Newman on Saturday, January 7, labeled John Mahama as a tried and failed leader.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will hold primaries on January 27, 2024, to choose parliamentary candidates for the forthcoming December general elections.
Darkoa Newman is among the 30 incumbent Members of Parliament who have been authorized by the party to run unopposed.
The former Okaikwei South MP praised the people for supporting and backing Darkoa Newman, but was quick to criticize John Mahama for seeking re-election as Ghana’s next president.
”I wonder why the NDC elected John Mahama to lead them in the 2024 polls, because we know his track record as vice and president of Ghana”.
John Mahama is a tried and failed leader; he was president of Ghana for four and a half years and plunged the country into “dumso” when people’s companies collapsed,” he remarked.
Nana Akomea emphasized that the previous president does not pose a danger to the NPP since he failed miserably when given the opportunity to run Ghana.
Darkoa Newman thanked the delegates and urged them not to abandon their fight to achieve the NPP’s landslide win on December 7.
