Madam Rebecca Agbogah, a Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Adaklu Constituency, has promised to create an educational scholarship fund for needy but brilliant students in the area if she becomes a Member of Parliament.
Madam Agbogah, who is seeking to represent her constituency in the 2024 elections, said the scholarship fund would help provide a missing link in the current educational chain in the area, where many students struggle to pay for their education.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Madam Agbogah also pledged to implement women and youth empowerment programmes to make them economically vibrant. She emphasized that the people of Adaklu fought for the creation of the district to promote socio-economic and political development.
While acknowledging the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mr. Governs Kwame Agbodza, for his contributions to educational and health infrastructure in the area, Madam Agbogah stated that the time had come for the people to give another person the opportunity to continue the development agenda of the area. She noted that the constituency needed to raise multiple political stalwarts instead of putting all its eggs in one basket.
Madam Agbogah emphasized the need for someone who could work hand in hand with the current MP, who she said would occupy a higher position in the next NDC government. She believes that by doing so, it would create the political synergy Adaklu needed to move to the next level.
As a politically vibrant woman with a passion for community development, Madam Agbogah believes she is the best fit for the bill. She stated that there are places where women can get better results than men, and she promises to form a formidable working relationship with Mr. Agbodza to champion the cause of Adaklu.
The NDC Parliamentary primary in the Adaklu Constituency is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 13, 2023. Madam Agbogah appeals to the delegates to vote for her, assuring them that she will work hard to champion their cause.
