LCB Worldwide Ghana Crowned Champions of Accra Zone Corporate Institutions Games

LCB Worldwide Ghana emerged victorious in the Accra Zone of the Corporate Institutions Games after securing a second half lone goal against Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA). The tournament, which was in its second edition, saw 16 companies bisected into zones to compete in a soccer league tournament. The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) also emerged as winners in the Tema Zone after defeating Pioneer Foods 5-4 on penalties.

The eight-corporate soccer league tournament, which started in March 2023 and ended on April 29, 2023, was organised and sponsored by LCB Worldwide Ghana. The tournament’s goal was to provide a friendly working environment for stakeholders, promote health and wellbeing, broaden networking opportunities, and engage employees. Companies like LCB Worldwide Ghana, Palace Mall, Pioneer Foods, Avians, Coco Vanilla, GUTA, GIFF, Maranatha TV, and Swiss Port challenged for ultimate at the Accra Zone.

Other companies, such as Ghana Navy, Pioneer Foods, Dignity Dirt Apparel, Nick Scan, Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) GPHA Fire Service, Arasa Ltd, and Ghana Port Health, also participated in the Tema Zone games played at Tema Community 2 Mexico Park.

LCB Worldwide Ghana dominated the game from start to finish, winning the tournament’s ultimate prize. The winners received a trophy, medals, and a special cash prize, while Robert Saki went home with the top goal scorer award for Accra. The best goalkeeper for Accra award went to Anthony Brookman, with Andy Aboagye receiving the best goalkeeper for Tema award and Richard Arhin adjudged the best top goal scorer for Tema.

For the most part, the tournament provided an opportunity for companies to compete in a friendly atmosphere while promoting employee engagement, health and wellbeing, and networking opportunities. The organisers, LCB Worldwide Ghana, must be commended for their efforts in creating such an environment for stakeholders, and we look forward to more successful editions in the future.
