Larry Emdur shared a clip of his first dance with his daughter Tia at her wedding to long-time boyfriend Rowell Jauco. The wedding took place at St Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney, surrounded by family and friends.
In the heartfelt footage posted on Instagram, Larry and Tia danced to the classic hit “Lean On Me,” performed by friend and performer Guy Sebastian. Tia looked stunning in an off-the-shoulder ivory gown with a single puff to one sleeve and gathering at the waist.
Tia, the bride, wore a beautiful gown with an off-the-shoulder ivory design, featuring a single puff to one sleeve and gathering at the waist. The gown was complemented by an embroidered lace veil that extended into a long train.
She wore her long hair down and opted for a glossy makeup palette. Larry, the father of the bride, looked dashing in a tailored black tuxedo paired with a white shirt and tie.
The TV personality subsequently wrote a touching essay about the special family event, adding, “Yesterday was one of the happiest, most tearful days of my life.”
“Yesterday, I walked my baby girl down the aisle, at the end of the aisle I had to place her hand on his, I didn’t want to let her hand go, but it was time, and it was right.”
Larry went on to explain that it was an emotional day, and that he teared up as he sat down.
“I gently placed Tia’s hand on Ro’s and sat down to cry a bit more — and just when I thought I didn’t have any tears left, it was time for the daddy/daughter dance,” he said.
“More tears, more love, more moments I’ll treasure until the day I die.
Sylvie, Larry’s wife, looked stunning in a silver outfit in images from the occasion. Larry’s eldest son, Jai, 30, was also seen with his parents that day.
“A million Thank You’s and man hugs to the beyond brilliant Guy Sebastian for the most personalised, beautiful, powerful and tear-jerking version of this song I’ve ever heard.
“The best Daddy Daughter dance song I’ve ever heard — Tia you know you can always lean on me.”
Larry posted a second photo of the pair standing beside a convertible during the reception, with the stunning bride clutching a bouquet of flowers.
“Dear Ro, please look after my baby girl,” he wrote.
Larry Emdur announced his daughter Tia’s engagement in November, sharing an emotional message. He posted two photographs of the couple, describing them as the “lovebird couple.”
Larry expressed his emotions, mentioning that he “just cried” when groom-to-be Rowell asked him for his daughter’s hand in marriage.
“All a father like me can hope and pray for is that one day his baby girl finds a partner who will love and adore, respect and admire, cherish and protect her the way he’s tried to,” Larry wrote.
“Well, that partner has arrived and we feel very, very blessed.
“Congratulations on your engagement you two love birds.”
He continued: “Rowell, thank you for being a bit ol’ fashioned and asking me if you could ask Tia for her hand in marriage.
“I was trying to be a mature, tough dad but I think I just cried.”
He then joked about “trying to save money on the wedding, so if it’s ok, I’m getting my friends to do stuff”.
