Kwami Sefa Kayi, the host of Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, has expressed concern over the gullibility of some women when it comes to their relationship with Pastors. He wondered what could be the charm that some women cannot withstand from Pastors that they usually fall prey to some unscrupulous ones. He made these remarks after a recent shocking incident where a man of God called Pastor Isaac Okyeam, alias “Pastor Owusu,” allegedly burned a woman to death. The 42-year-old woman reportedly suffered from burns caused by a ‘spiritual oil’ administered by the Pastor during a deliverance session. The Pastor has been arrested in connection with the woman’s death.
Kwami Sefa Kayi found it difficult to grasp why any woman would avail herself for such kind of so-called spiritual directions from religious leaders. He believes that women should use their common sense to avoid being deceived by these Pastors who often take advantage of their vulnerability.
The sad incident raises concerns about the increasing number of cases where some religious leaders are taking advantage of their followers, especially women. Some pastors have been caught up in various crimes such as sexual abuse, fraud, and murder, with their congregants often being the victims.
For the most part, it is essential for women to be vigilant in their relationship with Pastors. They should be cautious about what kind of advice and directions they accept from these leaders. They should also do their own research and investigations before they commit themselves to any spiritual direction. Women should also be aware that not all Pastors have their best interests at heart and that they must be cautious about the advice and guidance they receive.
In conclusion, women should be empowered to question religious authority and ensure that their pastors are accountable for their actions. It is also essential for churches to put in place measures to prevent such abuses from happening within their congregations. As Kwami Sefa Kayi pointed out, women must use their common sense and avoid being deceived by the so-called spiritual leaders.
