2024 Presidential hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, has urged Ghanaians to embrace the message of forgiveness and reconciliation as demonstrated by Jesus Christ during his crucifixion.

Dr. Duffuor, who is a former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, emphasized that forgiveness and reconciliation are central to the Christian faith. In his Easter message to Ghanaians on Friday, April 7, he urged citizens to pray unceasingly for God to bless the nation and make it prosperous.

“As Christians, we must remember the message of forgiveness and reconciliation that is at the core of our faith. It is my prayer that our beloved homeland, Ghana, would always find favour in the eyes of the Lord as we commit ourselves to pray without ceasing for Him to bless us and make us great and strong,” he said.

Dr. Duffuor also urged Ghanaians to be compassionate and remember those who are less privileged in society. He urged citizens to emulate the example of Christ and extend a helping hand to those in need.

“Let us be the hands and feet of Christ, helping those in need and sharing the hope of salvation with all. Like Christ, who suffered and emerged victorious, we too, as a nation, can overcome our present sufferings. Let us keep praying and seeking God’s intervention in our lives and in our nation,” he added.

The former Bank of Ghana Governor’s message is in line with the Christian celebration of Easter, which marks the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As Ghanaians celebrate Easter, it is important to remember the message of hope, forgiveness, and reconciliation that is associated with the occasion.
