Kumawu by-election: The new MP said, “We never shared cups of rice for votes”

Allegations that the NPP authorised people in the viral videos delivering supplies like rice, fabric, and other commodities to influence voters in the impending Kumawu by-election were disputed by Ernest Yaw Anim, the NPP candidate for Kumawu’s parliamentary seat.

He claims that the aforementioned videos are propaganda produced on purpose by the opposition.

He claimed that several residents of the district were celebrating Mother’s Day by making a good gesture to their mothers.

Mr. Anim stated that he sees nothing wrong with your people thanking their parents for everything they do for them in an interview with OTEC FM Extended Programme in Kumawu on Monday, May 22, 2023, before to the by-election today.

He clarified that the NPP was not involved in such operations and said that the party’s strategy for distributing supplies like rice will involve a more systematic and inclusive approach.

He questioned the program’s host, Dr. Cash, “What is wrong with people trying to honour their parents during such occasions?”

Instead, he asserted that the late MP’s diligence and record, as well as President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s accomplishments, will help them win the elections.

This misinformation is being used by the NDC to defame the NPP, but it will fall flat. After the election, we will hold onto the seat, he continued.
