Kennedy Agyapong, the Assin Central Member of Parliament and a formidable competitor in the recently concluded New Patriotic Party presidential primary, is preparing to launch a rigorous campaign in the Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region.
Ralph Agyapong, his brother, who is vying for the Bantama Constituency MP seat, revealed this information.
At the commissioning ceremony of Bantama’s library, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo urged the town’s residents to keep Francis Asenso-Boakye as their Member of Parliament, saying that it would be detrimental to him if he is forced out in 2024.
“It will hurt me so much if the people of Bantama throw him away. Give him the opportunity to represent you again and he will come and continue the good job he has been doing,” Akufo-Addo said.
In response to President Akufo-Addo’s Asenso-Boakye campaign, Ralph Agyapong said in an Akoma FM interview that Kennedy Agyapong is overjoyed with the president’s support.
He clarified that the Bantama race’s presidency will add a great deal of intrigue to the contest.
“The president has come so, he (Kennedy Agyapong) is also coming to Bantama. He is coming to campaign for me. Won’t he come after the president has come? He says the race will be very interesting,” Ralph stressed.
