Kennedy Agyapong, the candidate for flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, has committed to address the unemployment problem in Ghana if chosen as the party’s candidate and subsequently as the president of the nation.
These remarks were given on June 21, 2023, when he filed his nomination at the party’s headquarters.
He claims that the government and previous administrations have long struggled with the threat of unemployment, and he is committed to drastically lowering the unemployment rate.
“I want to acknowledge that the difficulty facing the administration and governments over the past 23 years has been unemployment. As a result, I’ve made it my mission to lower the unemployment rate in our nation. I want everyone to have faith in me, and I want all of you who are watching to have faith in me that, by the grace of God and in good health, I deliver on what I promise.
Kennedy Agyapong, a candidate for flagbearer, proceeded by stating that in order to advance the nation, there is an urgent need to address the issue of employment creation, particularly for the young of the nation.
“A significant issue has been recognised based on my 23 years of experience in politics and in the parliament, as I have stated. We must make sure to generate jobs, particularly for young people, if we want to propel our nation ahead, he continued.
Out of the eleven people that selected the candidature forms, Kennedy Agyapong’s nomination submission brings the total number of contenders for the NPP flagbearer post to six.
