Before to the party’s primary elections on November 4, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a candidate for the position of flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party, has been pitching his campaign to party delegates.

The member of parliament for Assin Central has been emphasising his services to the party since its founding as part of his campaign.

Kennedy Agyapong stated a total of 727 cars he has financed for the party since 1994 in a speech he gave to party members in the Ayawaso East Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, as seen in a video posted by Oman Channel.

“I couldn’t help much in 1996 since I had gone bankrupt, but I did give 15 pickups to NPP. I handed away 50 pickups in 2000. Along with Mr. Oppong Bio, we provided 100 pickups in 2004. According to him and Mr. Oppong Bio, the party received 245 brand-new Tata pickups in 2008, as well as an additional 77 Russian trucks.

In addition, the MP said that in 2016 he had bought 240 pickups for the party.

Kennedy Agyapong, a well-known financier, mentioned a number of additional instances where he came through for the NPP in terms of financial support and other resources, in addition to the purchase of cars.

Despite the large number of potential flagbearer candidates, Kennedy Agyapong believes that, beyond his services to the party, he is the only one who can successfully earn the party’s nomination for president in 2024.

On November 4, 2023, the NPP plans to hold a primary to choose a flagbearer who will represent the party in the 2024 presidential election.
