After graduating from college, he started a professional broadcasting career. Born to the Catholic church, he on several occasion been referred to as one of the active American journalists.

All though it it can be argued that David Muir is of Italian and Irish descent, speaks Arabic, French and Spanish fluently, was raised as a Catholic. He later converted to Judaism even as his family practiced Catholicism.
