The lady who was attacked while being stripped nude in a town in the Upper East Region has disclosed that in addition to her heinous ordeal, four other females were also harassed and raped by the same individuals who attacked her.
The victim, [Name withheld], 26, a resident of the Kopela hamlet, said that she and four other females were on their way home from the market when they got lost in the jungle while travelling through it.
She claims that while travelling, they saw these men, who abused her and pulled the other four into a nearby bush.
The four girls were raped, according to Miss Yakubu. She said that five young males raped one of the girls.
According to reports, the young girl who was raped by five guys has also been located, and the police have given her a paperwork so she may travel to the hospital in the Zebilla District for an examination and treatment.
The primary victim, whose abuse was caught on camera, allegedly left the neighbourhood following the event and travelled to Zebilla. From there, she and her family escaped to a village in the West Mamprusi Municipality. She was discovered by the cops on Tuesday morning.
Following the incident’s considerable public criticism, the IGP reached out to the community’s leaders to reassure them of increased security while inquiries were ongoing.
Idrissah Mohammed Bingle, the president of the National Council of Fulani Chiefs, has spoken with the IGP about this issue in meetings.
He claimed that in order to stop additional reprisal, they have been urging their people—the Fulani—to remain patient.
We’ve tried our best to maintain composure, and we’re doing it still, as we have since the beginning, he added.
While efforts are made to apprehend more complicit parties, four individuals who have already been apprehended are now being held in police custody and supporting the investigation.
In the video, males could be seen undress a woman as others photographed her privates by widening her legs.
According to some stories, the lady was attacked in retaliation for the murder of a local in Binaba in the Upper East Region by alleged nomadic herders.
