Today’s session will take place behind closed doors, according to the ad hoc committee of parliament looking into the alleged scheme to depose Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
As the National Security Minister, Kan Dapaah, appears before the committee, this is due to security concerns.
Samuel Atta Akyea, the committee’s chairman, adding that today, Wednesday, the interrogation of witnesses will also not be made public.
A second appearance before the committee has also been requested for Bugri Naabu, the former Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP, on September 13.
This comes after the IGP and the three top police officials who were mentioned in the recording that was released on Tuesday testified before the committee.
Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), unequivocally denied on Tuesday having any part in the scheme to secretly record Bugri Naabu.
The investigation into the leaked tapes has attracted more public attention recently.
