Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communication Officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), urged Ghanaians to disregard what he called false audio in circulation.
The New Patriotic Party, its agents, assigns, and surrogates are allegedly spreading an audio message that the NDC has seen and heard. This communication is desperate and intentionally fabricated, according to the NDC.
For the Assin North by-election, the NDC’s Parliamentary candidate, James Gyakye Quayson, the recording was fraudulently faked, the NDC said, and it claimed to be the voice of his daughter.
The audio clip in question, which was made by an unidentified person posing as James Gyakye Quayson’s child, contains profane and obscene swear words that we cannot repeat. We want to make it clear that the aforementioned audio does not originate from any of James Gyakye Quayson’s children, relatives, or associates because it does not reflect the dignity and etiquette of James Gyakye Quayson or his immediate or extended family, who value and uphold the worth of every individual.
“Let it be known that the family of Gyakye Quayson has stood steadfastly and will continue to stand with him in his efforts to serve the people of Assin North and pursue their felt needs, and they will never turn their back on this honourable cause,” Mr. Gyamfi said.
The New Patriotic Party in Assin North has reached a fever pitch of desperation after sensing an impending loss in the by-election contest on Tuesday, he continued. We thus implore every wise Ghanaian to shun the aforementioned tape and to treat it with the disdain it so richly deserves.
