Rapper and music producer Elorm Adabla, better known by his stage as E.L, claims his claim that he worked as a delivery man in the US was made up.
He admitted that everything was done for the trends in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, which dutifully produced favorable outcomes for him.
In a recent interview with 3Music TV, the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Artiste of the Year said that there was a time in his life when he needed to work as a food delivery man in the US in order to maintain his body and spirit.
Even more, he said that his time in the US had taught him the value of humility.
Now, the rapper claims that everything was a hoax and that nothing like that ever took place.
“Andy let me be very honest with you be my bro that whole thing ebi agenda we dey do. I no for do that thing but it’s one of those things. In the spur of the moment sometimes you get carried away,” he said in Pidgin.
E.L. said that despite never having worked as a delivery man, he had thoughts of doing something similar.
The rapper from “Bars” later issued an apology for the marketing stunt.
“It was more like an attention grab and I shouldn’t have done it. It was also influenced by some people around me. I was fresh off the flight and I wanted to get something trending and it did trend.”
E.L. is now on a media tour to support his most recent EP, titled “The Teacher.”
After his 2021 Bar 6 album, this EP is E.L.’s first significant release. Additionally, it proves his will to fulfill his promise to fans upon his comeback in April 2023 to release more songs.
To commemorate the release of his first EP in a while, E.L. also hinted at a live performance at the Zen Gardens in Labone.
Fans may anticipate a body of work that demonstrates E.L.’s musical development and storytelling skill as the release date draws near.
“The Teacher” is positioned to establish itself as a standout release in 2023 thanks to the inclusion of “Chop Life,” “Soba,” and the promise of interesting collaborations.
