I have a realistic development strategy for Kadjebi-Dabo

If elected as Member of Parliament (MP) for the Akan Constituency, Nana Nyarko Dabo, a candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), says that creating an achievable development plan for the Kadjebi District for comprehensive and consistent development will be his top priority.

No matter who the MP or District Chief Executive was, he claimed that such a development plan would make them consistent with the district’s development initiatives.
According to him, all district political parties, the district’s chief, the imams, and other effective organised organisations in the district will be consulted before proceeding.

A candidate for the House of Representatives stated that his “principles are based on the belief in harnessing the collective talent of everyone to build a society that works and gives equal opportunity to all, irrespective of gender, religion, or tribe.”

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Kadjebi in the Oti Region, Mr. Dabo disclosed this information.

In order to break the back of poverty in the area, he added, policies should put people at the core. He also claimed that during his first term in office, an apprenticeship support programme would be created to teach young people employable skills.

According to the candidate, improvements would be made to schooling to lessen the difficulties faced by district pupils during their periods and protect them from health risks and embarrassment.

In order to improve learning outcomes in schools, Mr. Dabo stated that there will also be a programme for motivating and supporting teachers.

Regarding agriculture, the contestant, an entrepreneur, claimed that the district had historically been an agricultural community where crops like rice, maize, palm trees, and ginger, among others, were grown. However, the crops were unfortunately transported outside of the district in their raw form, so with the help of appropriate partners, an agro-processing factory would be built to transform the crops for value addition.

In the May 13 Parliamentary Primaries, Nana Nyarko Dabo will compete against Mr. Yao Gomado, the current MP for Akan, and Mr. Ahmed Muniru, a businessman.
