Hamad Al Thani age and early life
Hamad Al Thani was born on 1 January 1952, in Doha, Qatar. He was born to mother, Aisha bint Hamad Al Attiyah and father, Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani (17 September 1932-23 October 2016). His mother died shortly after he was born. His uncle raised him.
Hamad Al Thani was educated at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst in 1971. He was then commissioned in Qatar’s armed forces as a lieutenant colonel. Hamad Al Thani was appointed Heir Apparent of Qatar in 1977 and held the post until 1995.
