The sudden death of Emmanuel Acquah, a popular National Democratic Congress (NDC) Branch Chairman at Dunkwa-On-Offin, has left his family in shock and grief. Speaking out about the tragic incident, Acquah’s brother, Emmanuel Atta Mensah, has shed some light on his brother’s life and circumstances leading up to his death.

Mensah revealed that Acquah was not only a teacher at Dunkwa Secondary Technical School, but also worked as a part-time driver for Chinese nationals when he was on vacation. Unfortunately, Acquah had not been paid his teacher’s salary for the past nine months, leaving him to rely solely on his driving business to make ends meet.

According to Mensah, Acquah left the house early on Thursday morning after receiving a call. Despite being hesitant to go due to financial constraints, he eventually left for work as there was no money to cater for the household.

Tragically, Acquah was shot dead by robbers while returning from a mining site with two Chinese nationals. The foreigners managed to escape, but the robbers made away with several gold bars. As of now, no arrests have been made.

The grieving family is now demanding answers about the circumstances leading to Acquah’s untimely death. Mensah stated that the family has yet to receive an official report or clarity on the matter from the Chinese nationals or the company that employed his brother.

For the most part, the family and community are left in shock and disbelief over the loss of a beloved teacher and community leader. The tragedy highlights the dangers faced by those who work in the mining industry and the need for improved safety measures and support for workers. The family continues to mourn the loss of Acquah and hopes that justice will be served.
