Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been cautioned by some irate teenagers in Gomoa Central, in the Central region, to cease harassing singer and politician Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A Plus.
A Plus was singled out by a group of NPP teenagers who broke into UTV studios in Accra last Saturday and demanded an apology for his constant criticism of the administration.
If he doesn’t answer their phone, the gang promised to deal with him.
The artist, according to the young people of Gomoa Central, is being targeted by the government because he might jeopardize the region’s political future in 2024.
In remarks to the media on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, the group’s leader, Alex Donkor, stated that A Plus is under attack since he has made it known that he intends to run as an independent for the Gomoa Central parliamentary seat.
He said that Naana Eyiah Quansah, the current member of parliament, is under danger due to his candidacy.
In order to avoid their fury, Mr. Donkor advised the NPP national leadership to bring its young to order.
In the meanwhile, A Plus has predicted a resounding win in the parliamentary elections and warned prospective candidates to give him the benefit of the doubt in order to save money and time.
