Five people were hurt and two students from the Gomoa Mozano Senior High School (SHS) are in severe condition as a result of an accident involving a Hyundai Urvan with the registration number GW 992-09.
Seven pupils from Gomoa Mozano Senior High School were participating in a festival float with Nananom and citizens of Gomoa Ahyiem to celebrate the annual Akwambo Festival when the event happened.
The happy mood immediately changed to melancholy, according to sources, when the Hyundai Urvan plowed over the students and caused serious injuries. Five other kids suffered various injuries, while two are now in critical condition.
The terrible situation was reported by Michael Arthur, the Gomoa Ahyiem assemblyman, to Adom News. He disclosed that the seven pupils who were injured in the incident are all currently being treated at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital.
The Agona Abodom District Police Command has detained the driver of the Hyundai Urvan in response to the incident to help with the continuing investigation.
Authorities are attempting to pinpoint the accident’s cause and identify any negligence or other elements that could have contributed to the unfortunate tragedy.
