Nicholas Osei, also known as Kumchacha, the Founder and Leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, has praised the Inspector General of Police (IGP), George Akuffo Dampare, for putting a stop to predictions in the nation.
According to him, IGP Dampare’s determination to deal with prophets who deliver prophesies that cause fear and terror in people and endanger their lives is a step in the right way.
The preacher criticized pastors who are criticizing IGP Dampare for the move and blaming him of preventing them from expressing God’s will to the people.
Instead of blaming IGP Dampare, Kumchacha argued that he should be applauded for the procedures he has put in place to manage prophesies.
“IGP George Akuffo Dampare, may God bless him. The regulations he has introduced to curb doom prophecies will help us. If you are a prophet and claim that IGP’s order has restricted you from prophesying then you are not from God but it’s your foolishness and eagerness for popularity that makes you think so. Can I IGP stop you from speaking the mind of God?
“Since IGP started cautioning prophets, haven’t you realized some unnecessary foolish prophecies have stopped? Some of them get information from experts to prophesy about fame which is not the best,” he said in a video shared by Trends GH TV on their YouTube channel.
It will be remembered that the Ghana Police Service issued a public warning to prophets to be cautious about how they convey their forecasts in order to avoid unrest.
Some pastors have chastised IGP Dampare for adopting such a step, which they believe may limit prophets’ ability to give prophesies.
