Elomi Ababio, a social media star from Ghana, has made progress in her quest to become admitted to the bar.

The aspirant lawyer, better known by his stage name Ama Governor, temporarily hit a roadblock when a complaint was lodged against him by a concerned citizen in November of last year.

According to this complaint, Ama Governor had acted in a way that was “unbecoming of a bar applicant.”

The General Legal Council made the decision to postpone summoning Ama Governor to the bar as a result of this complaint.

This choice sparked intense responses on social media as well as in the larger public discourse, igniting discussions on the conduct of law students in Ghana.

Ama Governor fiercely denied the accusations of impropriety, claiming that the whole affair had been unfairly applied to her.

In an unexpected turn of events, Ama Governor has been given the chance to finish the application process for her bar call, scheduled for the October/November 2023 sessions, according to the Ghana Bar Association’s (GBA) representative’s report to the General Legal Council at the 2022/2023 bar conference held in Cape Coast.

Ama Governor’s behavior will be thoroughly watched in the months before she submits her application for bar entrance, according to the newspaper.

She will also be asked to sign an undertaking promising to behave properly while working as a lawyer in Ghana.
