The country’s existing road networks are being expanded, and those that are in poor condition are being maintained, according to the Ministry of Roads and Highway (MRH), which has said that major work is now being done.
The Ministry declared that it has taken note of the media campaigns and public outcry on the poor state of the nation’s roadways.
It stated in a statement that tremendous effort is being put in to remedy each of these difficulties.
The ministry is described as having remarked in a statement that “the rainy season always causes some deterioration to some old roads, which are then quickly attended to through the Ministry’s emergency maintenance programme.”
The statement continues by assuring the public that the ministry is making every effort to resolve all of the country’s transport issues.
“The Ministry wants to reassure the public that steps are being taken to resolve dangerous road segments that have appeared around the nation since the start of the rainy season. For instance, Teshie Tsui Bleoo Road and Fertiliser Road in Accra both have repair projects underway on right now, it said.
The Ministry is still dedicated to giving the nation well-maintained roads.
The statement emphasised that “the Ministry wishes to reiterate its commitment to providing a well-maintained road infrastructure responsive to Ghanaians’ needs.”
