On Good Friday, believers gather in their churches to reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus made.

In order to understand what Good Friday means to Christians, GhanaWeb chatted with a number of them.

The following was said by a member of the congregation at a Catholic church in Abelemkpe: “Everyone who believes that Christ died for his or her sins should know how important this day is because for someone to give his or her life to save me and on such a day that we remember and commemorate that day, this day should be a day of silence and deep reflection where I sit down as a Christian to reflect on our own lives.

A different member of the congregation remarked, “I believe it is time for us to repent and return with a humble heart on the cross and recognise that God is real. Christians ought should at the very least fast.

He continued, “That is a significant day for me in the faint.” I am inspired to live in that silence and consider how faithful I have been to him throughout my life, as well as my life as a Christian and what I can do to become a better person.
