Dr. Freda Prempeh, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano North Constituency in the Ahafo Region, has asked the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) to delete the names of several constituency executives from the album.

The Minister for Sanitation is facing a stronger battle from Dr. Gideon Boako, and she has written to the party’s headquarters, pleading with them to remove the names of the abovementioned officers from the album.

Her petition, dated December 22, 2023, is based on the fact that constituency officers have been displaying signs of support for Dr. Gideon Boako, which she believes violates the party’s constitution, which prohibits officers from openly supporting an aspirant in an election.

In her appeal to the General Secretary, she also claims that certain constituency officials shown support with Dr. Gideon Boako during the vetting grounds on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

Such officers, she believes, have jeopardized their impartiality by siding with her opponent.

It remains to be seen if the General Secretary and his team of National Executives would cater to the whims and caprices of Tano North’s incumbent MP.

Several studies indicate that, despite a difficult struggle, Dr. Gideon Boako will beat over Dr. Freda Prempeh in the NPP’s yet-to-be-held parliamentary primary.

According to political experts and commentators, this is the first time Freda Prempeh has faced a challenge that may easily depose her from Parliament.
