In preparation for the 2024 election, John Mahama has named former NDC candidate for the Nyawaso West Wuogon constituency Fred Nuamah to his national campaign team.
When Mr. Nuamah decided not to run against his close friend John Dumelo, he revealed this on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem.
He emphasized that it also affected his decision to withdraw from the competition, however he did not make it clear what role he would play in the campaign.
“What lies ahead of us is bigger, and the withdrawal is in the interest of the party. Mr Mahama invited me to help with his national campaign team, and as a dedicated member of the NDC, I prioritize the party’s unity and his Excellency’s project aimed at rescuing our country, but nobody should think I was coerced to bow out,” he said.
Despite his early resolve to win the seat at any costs, Mr. Nuamah has stated that running for parliament is not required.
He declared that he doesn’t think coming to parliament is necessary to assist his constituents and the NDC.
“I believe working on Mahama’s team is far better,” he added.
