Former Kintampo South MP Appeals for Youth Empowerment Ahead of Primaries

Felicia Adjei, the former Member of Parliament for Kintampo South, has appealed to delegates to support her bid for re-election in the upcoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries. In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Ms. Adjei emphasized her commitment to youth-led development in the constituency.

Ms. Adjei has pledged to initiate programs that will steer the youth away from reckless lifestyles. Her aim is to provide the youth with economic empowerment training to establish small scale businesses, generate income and become financially independent. She believes the youth are a driving force for community development and empowering them will enhance the socio-economic progress of the constituency.

Ms. Adjei expressed concern over the high rate of teenage pregnancies in the area and has called on stakeholders to step in with preventive measures to save the future mothers and leaders from destroying their lives with early and unprepared child births. She singled out parents, teachers, traditional authorities, and religious bodies to help combat the issue.

During her previous term as MP for Kintampo South between 2017 and 2020, Ms. Adjei was committed to the promotion of agriculture for job and wealth creation. She believes that agriculture is a vital industry that has the potential to create numerous jobs for the youth.

Ms. Adjei acknowledged the disappointment of losing her seat in the 2020 election to Alexander Gyan of the New Patriotic Party. However, she remains determined to continue to serve her people and contribute to the development of the constituency.

In a nutshell, Felicia Adjei is promising to prioritize youth empowerment and agriculture for job and wealth creation in Kintampo South if elected as the NDC candidate in the upcoming primaries. She is also calling for collective efforts to address the issue of teenage pregnancies in the area.
