Former Appeals Court Justice: “Some judges accept bribes”

Justice Isaac Douse, a former justice of the court of appeals, has detailed the difficulties that judges in this country have while doing their official duties.

In an interview with CTV on Friday, June 16, 2023, which GHBREAKINGNEWS.COM was able to watch, the retired judge said that bribery is one of the main problems that judges face.

He claimed that individuals, including their family members, attempt to bribe them in order to affect their judgements.

He continued by saying that weak judges give in to temptation and allow themselves to be bought.

“The work is challenging. Judges are said to have accepted bribes. But how did individuals discover their homes in order to visit them and offer them bribes?

“If you enter that task without strength, you will be found wanting since you cannot complete it. Bribes would be used to pursue you. People approach you even during funerals. As a result, we rarely attend funerals and, when we do, we rarely remain for very long.

“There are too many temptations. They would search for your home, your friends, your siblings, your in-laws, and your classmates, among other places, the man in Twi added.

The esteemed judge continued by saying that some judges succumb to temptation and accept bribes as a result of their living circumstances.

He used the Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposé as an example, in which a judge was caught accepting a goat as payment.

He remarked, “I was saddened to witness the judge accepting the goat as a bribe and the living situation, he was in.
