A violent incident that injured about 12 Form 2 pupils resulted in the arrest of five Gomoa Potsin T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School (SHS) students.
In retaliation for an earlier fight between a colleague and a junior student, the suspects—mostly Form 3 students—carried out a midnight attack on the Form 2 pupils at their hostel.
After the sirens signaled lights out, the attackers—led by a few senior students—took advantage of the campus’s darkness to commence their attack on the unaware SHS 2 pupils, who were already in bed at the time.
Some of the victims were stabbed with knives, while others were hit with clubs. Additionally, they distorted the vision of their victims with flashlights.
Despite the quick response of the Potsin Neighborhood Watch Committee and the school’s security personnel, the assailants were able to harm 12 of their fellow pupils.
The Potsin Polyclinic was rushed to treat the casualties.
According to sources close to Citi News, the incident was carried out in retaliation for a previous argument between two SHS 2 students and a SHS 3 student on Friday, September 8, 2023, during which the SHS 2 student smacked his senior.
The SHS two students maintained the information to themselves until the assault actually took place, despite the fact that a member of the striking team had subtly suggested to some of them about the intended assault.
In a similar development, late Saturday night, three unidentified individuals attacked another student who was coming to school from the town. They stabbed him and stole his cell phone.
Investigative work by the school security staff and the Gomoa Potsin Neighborhood Watch Committee resulted in the five kids’ arrest.
The Gomoa Potsin police have received them for additional investigation.
Despite the fact that school administration has been mute about the events, sources close to Citi News claim that the suspects’ parents have been invited and a committee is being formed to investigate the situation.
