Fire Outbreak in Bus SHS Boy’s Dormitory Injures One Person

A fire outbreak has occurred in the boy’s dormitory block of Business Senior High School in the Sagnerigu municipality in the Northern region. The incident, which happened on Thursday dawn, left one student injured. It was reported that the school was already closed, and many students had left for the Easter break.

The affected student was in the room when the fire broke out. Fortunately, the timely intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service prevented the fire from spreading to other rooms in the dormitory block.

Speaking to the media, the Northern Regional PRO of the Ghana National Fire Service, ADO 2 Baba Hudu, disclosed that the cause of the fire is still under investigation. He, however, advised the public to adhere to fire safety regulations to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.

The incident has caused fear and panic among parents and guardians of students in the school. However, the school authorities have assured the public that measures are being put in place to ensure the safety and security of the students on campus.

The Business Senior High School is one of the reputable second-cycle institutions in the Northern region, offering quality education to students in the region and beyond. The incident has, therefore, prompted stakeholders in the education sector to re-emphasize the need for schools to prioritize fire safety measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
