According to the Deputy Director of Operations at the GNFS headquarters, Divisional Officer Grade 1, Joseph K. Forson, the distress call was received at 12:52 am. The first fire engine from the Industry Area Fire Station, which was about two kilometers away, arrived at the scene and found the flames had already spread to one of the warehouses on the factory’s premises.

The firefighting crew quickly got to work, with multiple fire pumps and one water tanker from the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, and ten private water tanker operators joining in to help extinguish the fire.

Finally, at 4:20 am, the fire was brought under control and fully extinguished at 6:33 am. It was a great relief that no casualties or injuries were recorded during the incident.

However, investigations are still ongoing to determine the cause of the inferno. Multipac Ghana Ltd, the beverage manufacturer that has made a name for itself in the industry, will undoubtedly have to bear the cost of the losses incurred from the fire outbreak.

The incident serves as a reminder to all companies and individuals to ensure the safety of their property by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
