Empowering Women in Insurance: Tucci Ivowi’s Message to Hollard Ghana

Tucci Ivowi, CEO and Founding Member of the Ghana Commodity Exchange, recently addressed the Hollard Women High Tea, an event held to celebrate International Women’s Day 2023. The event, which took place at Tribeca, a restaurant in Accra, aimed to commemorate women in leadership and was themed “Embrace Equity”.

Tucci encouraged women to work SMARTER, emphasizing the need to develop a work ethic that makes them Sincere, Motivated, Artistic, Resilient, Tough, Empathetic, and Respected. She stressed the importance of becoming an expert in one’s industry to advance to leadership positions and urged women to deliver results, stating that smart leaders want intelligent individuals on their teams.

Tucci also underlined the need to embrace failure, as it allows one to grow, and encouraged women not to let themselves down and blame others for their lack of progress. Instead, she urged them to take responsibility for their own growth and development, always striving to remain relevant and never stopping their personal and professional growth. She also advised women to find supportive partners who would encourage their career advancements.

Patience Akyianu, Group CEO of Hollard Ghana, commended Tucci for empowering Hollard women and invited Sheila Wristberg, CEO of IRisk Management LTD and founder of Women Leadership in Insurance Africa, to introduce the Hollard Women to the community. Women Leadership in Insurance Africa provides support, advice, skills, and mentorship to enable women in the insurance industry to excel.

For the most part, the event was a success, with participants enjoying great bonding activities like singing and dancing, accompanied by good food and music. They also had the opportunity to network with the speaker and guests.
