Effutu Traditional Council Organizes Health Walk Ahead of Aboakyer Festival

The Effutu Traditional Council, led by Neenyi Ghartey VII, has organised a health walk in the principal streets of Winneba ahead of this year’s Aboakyer Festival. The walk lasted for five hours and was sponsored by Standard Water and Beverages Limited. The Planning Committee of the festival collaborated with the Traditional Council to organise the event. The participants included divisional chiefs, youth groups, members of the two Asafo Traditional groups, and opinion leaders.

The walk commenced at the Trauma and Specialist Hospital and ended at the Liberation Square. The walk was accompanied by brass band music. Addressing the participants, Neenyi Ghartey thanked God for His guidance and protection throughout the past year. He expressed gratitude to the participants for the massive turnout and advised them to regularly exercise to stay healthy and keep diseases at bay. He also urged them to participate in all the activities towards the festival.

William Oppong, the Communication Manager of Standard Water and Beverages, said the company supported the walk with 70 T-shirts, cartons, and bags of water as part of its corporate social responsibility. He explained that the walk aimed to create awareness on the need to keep fit and healthy through regular exercising.
