Following a perfect campaign as Dr. Bawumia’s campaign coordinator, Effiduase Asokore’s incumbent MP, Dr Ayew Afriyie, has reached another milestone by running unopposed in his seat.

Effiduase Asokore, known for its acrimonious primaries in the past, now enjoys newfound calm under Dr. Ayew Afriyie’s vibrant leadership.

As the nomination time ended on December 25, Dr. Ayew Afriyie was the lone contender, with overwhelming support from high-profile figures such as Chiefs and religious leaders. This outstanding achievement followed his outstanding coordination of activities throughout the DMB Campaign in the region.

Dr. Ayew, largely expected to lead the party’s national campaign, has changed Effiduase Asokore in the Ashanti Region since his election as MP, transforming a once-troubled electorate into a symbol of stability and positive transformation.

Earlier this year, President Akufo-Addo congratulated Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, Member of Parliament for Affiduase-Asokore, for his assistance in organizing the Kumawu by-election, which saw the New Patriotic Party (NPP) maintain its seat.

Prior to the murder of former Kumawu MP Philip Basoah, there were internal squabbles between the District Chief Executive, party executives, and Basoah.

Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie was selected by the council to oversee the party’s functional structure and to fix the breaches that had emerged.

This choice was made because the party believed in his capacity to bring the squabbling parties together and keep the peace before the party’s primaries.

Following this, President Akufo-Addo praised him for his organizational abilities throughout the election campaign period and to the day of the polls.
