Some Ghanaians have expressed their annoyance with the South African Embassy’s prolonged visa granting process.

They stated that it typically takes 10 working days to issue a visa.

But these candidates’ processes have dragged on for months with no end in sight.

According to them, a company named VFS Global received the applications on behalf of the Embassy.

On Adom FM’s morning program, Dwaso Nsem, some victims vented their emotions and blamed the delay on a backlog of visas that needed to be cleared.

Businessman Nathanial Osei said he filed for the visa roughly two months ago in order to travel to South Africa to attend a conference.

He hasn’t heard anything from the VFS or the Embassy, though.

He stated he was in despair since he was informed it would take more than two weeks to withdraw the visa application and receive his passport back.

Despite the allegations of a backlog, some applicants, according to Mr. Osei, have been able to complete the procedure successfully.

Daniel Asare Kyei, a businessman who also recounted his story, claimed that when his visa application was likewise delayed for more than two months, he had to cancel his business trip.

In all of these battles, Mr. Kyei stated that there is no reimbursement if the visa application procedure is withdrawn.

Similar emotions were expressed by other callers who also urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to act quickly to resolve the issue.
